Post Berlin and Readers Comments Part 4
BDM, MichaelJ, and Wilson Price of Progress discuss the 9th through 16th place decks from Pro Tour Berlin. While the Top 8 was dominated by Elves the next 8 decks were dominated by diversity with cards as diverse as Fecundity and Azami, Lady of Scrolls populating the lists.
With Worlds on the horizon and a PTQ season not far behind will any of these decks dethrone Elves as the king of the Extended hill?
BDM, Michaelj, and Wilson PoP answer the Top8Magic comments section with a discussion of everything from smattering of basketball talk (ranging from LeBron and company in Cleveland to why BDM thinks the Knicks will make the playoffs), the impact of Rewind on the creation on Cryptic Command, the new season of Top Chef, why Tom hates Chinatown, and Elves, Elves, Elves!

This was perhaps the funniest Podcast of all time. When Will responds saying you can’t compare them because they are two different kinds of robots? Come on!
LOVE
MIKE
I agree. I don’t know if it was funniest of all time, but it was up there. Will Price of Progress gets a thumbs up, as does the Nightcrawler scene. Almost definitely my favorite action sequence.
Plus, I got called eccentric. I guess that isn’t funny more to the general audience, but I was amused.
I assume that these casts were not carefully edited viz “p**** s***”, although I’m glad that the posts are being moderated.
And Mike is right. Ben did not “lose” to Darth. He sacrificed himself so he could become infinitely more powerful and help Luke KO the Galactic Empire. He was at no point losing when he was actually fighting.
i would say when DV hit ben with his light saber he was losing the fight…just saying.
But if ben is letting DV hit him, and then disappears, instead of lying cut in two on the deck… isn’t that a win for Ben?
Good casts i enjoyed them.
Is there a part 5 coming soon?
It depends what we mean by “win.” I don’t think you can argue that Ben was winning the war in the larger scheme of things, thought he was physically defeated in the fight. The question really is: does it count? Ben wasn’t trying to win the fight…could he have if he wanted?
Saying DV won is sort of like saying you beat the guy who scooped you into Top 8. You got the W but…
