I am already dreading facing the inevitable Nyxathid decks that are sure to be built. Discard is quite the bummer :P There are so many ways to build the deck though; Esper colors for Sculler and Esper Charm, Grixis colors for Blightning and Sedraxis Specter, mono-black, black green, black red. It'll be interesting to see where Nyxathid heads.

I've been brewing up all kinds of bizarre decks with Conflux cards. From a Sigil of the Empty Throne + Shimmering Wings deck to a deck with Scepter of Dominance + Ajani Vengeant + Fulminator Mage + Reveillark which can use the same cards to attack lands vs. control or attack creatures against aggro. Another deck involves casting Lapse of Certainy, Excommunicate, Primal Command and Nevermaker forcing your opponent to draw the same cards every turn and eventually locking them out with Nevermaker + Mistmeadow Witch. The latest new deck is based around dealing damage while controlling the game through use of the biggest pile known to man. We're talkin Countersquall, Batwing Brume, Volcanic Fallout, Blightning, Punish Ignorance, Profane Command and Cruel Ultimatum. Haha what a deck!

I actually think Conflux has a chance of making a much bigger impact than Shards of Alara did.

You know, nothing in Conlux really says "build around me" or even "pet card me" to me. There are some cool utility cards in there (Path, Banefire, Hierarch) that I want to use, but they're not as exciting as, say, Elspeth was in Shards.
