Ugh, this would be a terrible idea. If there’s one thing Hollywood generally sucks at its art. They should continue making their incredibly lucrative trash and leave M:tG alone.
Link is 404. But I know this is a bad idea. Something like Lan D. Ho’s I Came To Game is going to be awesome, though — a documentary about competitive Magic.
Let them do what they want, I say. It’s not my money they’re spending. Oh, wait. It is. Well, I gave them money for a quality product, and if they choose to take their profits and set them on fire that is their choice to make. As long as the cards are still awesome.
One thing I WOULD like to see, though, is people dressing up like Tezzeret (And ESPECIALLY Chandra Ablaze, although none of the people I play with PLEASE) going to the release of the movie.
I usually say “trust Wizards, they know what they’re doing” in most situations, but they don’t do movies, and therefore don’t really know what they’re doing here as it is new ground.
I’ll go see it, even if it’s bad, so they can at least make some of the money back and keep making good cards. Hopefully it will be awesome. All I ask is that they don’t do something based on people playing the game and then actually becoming Planeswalkers. I think that would be insanely cheesy and stupid.
I could possibly go on and on about this, but I will choose to stop here.

Barring Peter Jackson directing an MTG film based on the Brother’s War, I’m not hopeful of any sort of decent treatment.
Id see it… online for free.
