Been Awhile… Part 2
bdm | August 16, 2010 | 1:29 pmThe last few times Mike and I have tried to podcast we have gotten derailed by an M11 draft or actually testing Standard for this coming weekend’s US National Championships, which we are both qualified to play in. After a recent playtest session Mike and I stuck around for an extra hour — after finally remembering how to turn on the casting device — and chat about Magic in general and the Hall of Fame in particular.

@Mike Flores - Jace TMS has that first ability which by the way makes spreading seas as awesome as it is (and tectonic edge, too). You manascrew people, leave them few outs and then take their outs away by fatesealing them. So it is at its best in a resource-limiting strategy in a way no other card could be (because it could also deal with whatever they’ve managed to play before you colorscrew them). Flexible, powerful. Casting it directly correlates to winning. This may not be the context when an incentive for people to play three-color decks with bad manabases no longer exists, but it is now.
